Agito is the second of the Fabula Nova Crystallis: Final Fantasy XIII series. Thus far there is very little known about this title. But there is some information out, so I will go ahead with the opening of this section of the Kingdom.
Agito, which is Latin for "put into motion", is not a side story of XIII, but rather takes place in the same universe of the other games, and utilizes some shared themes and mythologies. In the world of XIII, there is a magic school called Akademia. Here 13 students will become major factors of the games storyline. Each of these characters will have a unique weapon and fighting style. They will assumably have the ability to utilize magic into their attacks, being that they are at a Magic School. A 14th character was recently revealed. He is not named, as with the other characters. His weapon of choice seems to be a deck of cards, (Go Setzer!!) but there is little else known about him otherwise. The game itself will be released in 2009 on the PSP, and it is something to behold! I have not seen such outstanding graphics on the PSP yet. The screen I found for the game is so beautifully detailed.
The plot itself is being said to be just enormous. There is a faint bit of information on the actual story of the game, since it is, as of last release, being finalized. The decision to make Agito came after the other titles were begun. A bit odd to some, but this is supposed to be a massive spin-off series, with new titles appearing here and there. The choice to place it on the mobile phone was done after Square saw the success of Before Crisis: Final Fantasy VII. They have stated that the phone gives their gamers a chance to enjoy the Final Fantasy worlds, at any point in their busy lives. You no longer have to wait to get home, and find time to play. A great idea for a lot of us, if they would only release these titles here in the US. There is also whisper of this being made into a full fledge numbered game, but as of right now, I cannot get a confirmation on that, or most other questions surrounding the Fabula Nova Crystallis. I do know that Square is waiting for the next-gen phones, because the current phones cannot handle the graphics of the game.
