Final Fantasy III introduces the job/class
system. Whenever you reach a crystal in the game, you are given new classes to
use. You need capacity points (Rewarded after every battle) in order to change classes. There is
also two things to keep in
mind:
It takes more capacity points to change from a physical fighter to a magic user, (and vise versa)
than it would to another
physical fighter.
The longer you use a class, the less capacity points it takes to revert back to that class.
It would actually be wiser to choose to fighters, and two magic users. This will give you a good
balance throughout the game.
|
Onion Knight The
best...and worst
class in the game.
You begin the game as an Onion Knight. Change the class as fast as you can. If you can get ahold
of the Onion equipment, then
definately change back to it.
|
|
Fighter The
best fighter of the game,
until you get the Knight class.
Use two swords, rather than a shield to make fights faster. |
|
Monk It
is tough to say how to equip
a monk. If
you use his fists, the damage is greater. But if you use two nunchaku, it will almost triple his
attack power. If you can
afford it then go with the
double weapons. Change to a karateka when you can. |
|
White Wizard This
class is a must
have throughout the entire game. It is
imaprative you get one into the party, as soon as they become available. Keep them in the back,
and let them work their magic.
You should switch to a Shaman as quickly as possible. |
|
Black Wizard For
some reason, Black
Wizards in Final Fantasy have
the worse stats of all the magic users. However it is nessecary for boss battles to have one handy.
Keep them in the back
row, and upgrade to a Warlock ASAP. |
|
Red Wizard A
good alternative to White
and Black Wizards.
Red wizards cast both white and black low-level spells. They can also equip better weapons and
armor. |
|
Hunter In
the beginning, hunters
can be very useful. They have great armor to choose from. They can also damage enemies from the
back row. This, unfortunately,
is a bit pricey. |
|
Knight This
is the best fighter, outside
of the Ninja.
With the ability to equip two swords, they are an instant powerhouse. Also when a party member
is in a critical atate, he
will strike for them as well. |
|
Thief Thieves
have the ability to
steal items from enemies. The stealing is not very successful, unless you have all the thieves
equipment. Also about 90% of
all enemies only carry a potion. The one bonus is thieves can unlock any door, without a key. |
|
Scholar This
has to be the most useless
job in the game. You can use PEEP, but it is the same as Libra magic. Scan will show an enemies
weakness, and there is only
one time this is a must. Over all, don't bother with this class. |
|
Geomancer Though
the regular attack
of the Geomancer is pathetic to say the least, it's terrain attack can be very useful through the
middle of the game. Be careful
though, as some attacks may backfire on you. |
|
Dragoon This
class is an excelent
alternative to a Knight. His stats are all around good. Add the ability to jump, makes taking damage
less likely to happen. |
|
Viking Vikings
are the defense kings.
They will do less damage than a Knight, but with a strong defense, they can handle longer battles.
Personally i go on the
offense with Final Fantasy. If you do too, this might not be a good choice. |
|
Karateka This
is more like a Monk
class. Afer fighting with a Karateka, his bare fists will do more damage than his weapons. Also,
when fighting enemies that
split when hit, his build up will KO them before it happens. The only downfall is his poor defense.
Change to a Ninja when
you get it. |
|
M. Knight At
first, this class seems
useless. Once you get the right equipment, he becomes the best fighter at this point. He can use
low level curative magic,
and the all-important Exit spell. His katana's are the only means of stopping enemies from cloning.
Change to a Ninja when
you can. |
|
Conjurer Being
the first summoner
in Final Fantasy history, you would think a Conjurer would be better. However his spells are highly
unpredictable, and they
are far worse than Black or White Wizards. Change to a Summoner ASAP. |
|
Bard (Let
the Bard jokes begin!) Outside
of using Cheer to raise everyone's strength and defense, as with all Bards....USLESS CLASS! |
|
Summoner Definately
a better summoner
than the Conjurer, but his defense is weak. His spells are stronger than a Black Wizard, but lack
variety. Upgrade to a Sage
when you get a chance. |
|
Shaman This
is the best of the white
healers. The Shaman has top notch stats, and MP. Keep them in the back row for healing. Upgrade
to a Sage at first chance. |
|
Warlock Warlock
is definately a better
choice than a Black Wizard. He is able to use a wider range of magic, and has more MP. Keep him
set in the back, and change
to a Sage when the time arives. |
|
Sage The
best of the magic users.
The Sage can use all Black, White, and Call magic. Throw him in the back, and equip him with a
book and staff. |
|
Ninja This
is simply the best fighter
in the game. With two swords in hand, he will reak havoc on anyone, even bosses. The shuriken weapons
he can use are must
haves in the last few battles. when two are thrown, you can easily do 9,000+ damage. |
