In addition to the return of the Chocobo as a mode of transportation, there are many vehicles for the party to use. Final
Fantasy III is the first in the series to have more than one airship, and to name them. It is also the first in the series
to have a submarine.
Chocobo |
|
Chocobo's make their return in Final Fantasy III as a mode of transportation.
Once you catch one of these birds, you can ride it without fear of random battles. Once you dismount, the shy little bird
will run back home. |
Airship |
|
This is the first of the airships you will
get in Final Fantasy III. It
is owned by its creator Cid.
It cannot cross over Mountains, and It can only land in grassy areas. |
Enterprise |
|
Just like Cid's airship, the Enterprise cannot
cross over mountains. It
can only land in water, where it turns into.... |
The Ship |
|
This is the transportation of the high seas.
It is also the object the
Enterprise turns into.
It can dock pretty much anywhere you want it to. |
Nautilus |
|
This airship also cannot travel over mountains...(yes
i know what you're
thinking...When in the heck are we going to get over those mountains?!?!
Patience, we are almost there) When you first get the Nautilus, it can only land in grassy plains.
Once you give it an upgrade,
it can transform into a submarine. Just land on the water, and submerge. This is the first airship
that can pass through the
winds of Dalug Continent. |
Submarine |
|
Used to traverse the depths of the ocean floor.
The sub can enter any
underwater location. It also changes into the Nautilus. |
Invincible |
|
The mother of all airships, the Invincible
can go anywhere it wants to.
Outside of over the water, it can land anywhere, since it never actually touches down.
It hovers in one spot, and you throw a ladder overboard. Inside this behemoth are four vendor machines,
a fat Chocobo, and
even beds to sleep in. If you run into enemies on the Dalug Continent, it will fire cannons at
the start of battle.
Who could ask for anything more!!! Toyota! (oopse wrong theme:D) |
