Final Fantasy III introduces summoned monsters into the series. These mythical beasts are called into battle to aid the party in their fight. In Final Fantasy III, this is the only time that ALL summons have different abilites. (In Final Fantasy IX, Carbuncle and Fenrir are the only other times that a summon has multiple effects)

Depending on which class uses the summon, there are different effects on the attacks used. Below shows the effects of the different summons. The first and second is the Conjurer attacks, and the Third is the Summon and Sage attacks.

CHOCOBO	COST: 50
	ESCAPE Allows party to escape battles

	STUMBLE Nothing happens

	CHOCOBO KICK Small damage to one enemy

SHIVA	COST: 350
	HYPNO-BEAM Puts all enemies to sleep

	ICY GLARE Ice damage to a single enemy

	DIAMOND DUST Ice damage to all enemies

Ramuh	COST: 750
	MIND BLAST Stuns all enemies

	GOD"S THUNDER Lighting damage to a single enemy

	HEAVEN"S RAGE Lightning damage to all enemeies

IFRIT	COST: 1500
	RECOVER Restores some hp to the entire party

	FLAMES OF FURY Fire damage to a single enemy

	HELLFIRE Fire damage to all enemies

TITAN	COST: 2500
	PUNCH Damage to a single enemy

	KICK Damage to a single enemy

	EARTHQUAKE Earth damage to all enemies

ODIN	COST: 22500
	BARRIER Casts reflect on all party members

	SWORD CUT Strong physical damage to a single enemy

	ATOM EDGE KO's all enemies present

LEVIATHAN	COST: 27500
	STONY GLARE Turns all enemies to stone

	TEMPEST Strong water damage to all enemies

	TSUNAMI Extreme water damage to all enemies

BAHAMUT	COST: 32500
	AURA Casts Haste on all party members

	REND Instantly KO's one enemy

	MEGA FLARE Extreme non-elemental damage to all enemies
